Mini Air Cooler or Mist Fan: Which One for a Desk or Bedroom in Pakistan?

By Maxum Mart Team ·

Pick a mini air cooler if you will follow a small routine for a cooler airflow at a desk or bedside. Pick a mist fan if you want airflow with a mist feature in a bedroom or living space. These are personal coolers and fans for a small space, not room air conditioners. Each listing is summarised below, with what is not stated.

What to check before you buy

  • Cooling method: the Mini Air Cooler Pro uses two reusable ice-bottle cartridges that you freeze ahead of time. The Mini Air Cooler takes water and ice cubes poured in through the top lid.
  • Your routine: with the Pro you plan ahead and freeze the cartridges. With the plain Mini you top up water and ice cubes when it needs a refill.
  • Power: the Pro is USB-powered and can run from a power bank, laptop or wall adapter. The power source of the plain Mini is not listed - ask us on WhatsApp.
  • Rechargeable use: the rechargeable mist fan is described as rechargeable and portable. Battery capacity and charging time are not listed.
  • Run time, noise and temperature drop: none of these are listed, so we give no numbers. Ask us on WhatsApp if one matters to you.
  • Space: the mist fans are listed for bedrooms, study corners, living rooms and outdoor sitting areas. The coolers are 6x6 inch units for a desk, bedside table or small corner.
  • Parts: the Pro comes with two cartridges and a USB-A to Micro-USB cable. The plain Mini has a replaceable foam filter pad.

How the four options differ

Mini Air Cooler Pro

A compact 6x6 inch personal unit. A fan pulls air across the frozen cartridges and pushes a fine cool mist out of the front vents. The listing says it avoids water spillage and drips. The trade-off is that the cartridges must be frozen before use. Current price: Rs. 3,499.

Mini Air Cooler

Also 6x6 inch, sold under the "Arctic Air Ultra" packaging. You open the lid and pour in water and ice cubes, so there is nothing to freeze in advance. Air passes through a replaceable foam filter pad. One LED button panel on top controls power and fan speed. The trade-off is refilling. Current price: Rs. 2,999.

Double Head Mist Fan

The Double Head Mist Fan pairs airflow with a fine mist from two heads. The listing says you can cover more of the room or aim the breeze at yourself, and it is easy to position. Current price: Rs. 3,640.

Rechargeable Mist Fan with Light

The Rechargeable Mist Fan with Light combines gentle airflow, a mist feature and a built-in light. It is portable, so it is easy to move between a study corner and a bedside table. Current price: Rs. 1,760.
